Once DTS have completed the final touches to their 3D sound alternative, the NR-1606 will be capable of offering support for both formats via a firmware update. The unit features 8 HDMI inputs (1 of which has been conveniently located on the front panel for quick access), with an advanced video processing system taking the feed and ensuring the best possible signal is achieved. the NR-1606 is ready for the future, as this HDMI board is designed to make full use of 4K Ultra HD, full-rate 60Hz video content, with 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling and 21:9 aspect ratio pass-through, so no matter what source you're feeding to the receiver, only the best possible performance is achieved. It's of course also HDCP 2.2 compliant, which is a requirement for 4K UHD copy-protected content. Discrete power transistors are dedicated to each of the 7 channels, and the NR1606 is capable of multi-zone and multi-source functions.
