In one of the most interesting pairings worlds of the visual and musical arts in recent memory, designer H.R. Giger, best known for the creature of "Alien" fame, has joined forces with Ibanez, the fretted-instrument maker for heavy metal band Korn, jazz guitarist George Benson and many others.
The Ibanez RGTHRG2 features Giger's "NY City XI - Exotic" painting on the Ibanez RG body design popular among heavy metal guitarists. Since 1987, many players have selected the Ibanez RG as their weapon of choice for visiting sonic mayhem on the metal masses. With the right choice of pickups, flat and fast necks and double-locking trems, the RG has divebombed and crunched its way to classic status. To the RG's lethal combination of features, RG Prestige models add the comfortable, rounded feel of Prestige neck finishing, drop-dead good looks and top-shelf electronics and hardware.
The H.R. Giger signature guitars are a very limited production run and will undoubtedly become highly sought-after collector's items.
