Introduction - Mercury iC
Mercury iC sets a new performance standard for budget in-ceiling loudspeakers, delivering Tannoy's renowned sound quality in discreet installations anywhere in the home. Mercury iC draws heavily on the technology and acoustic design of Tannoy’s multi award-winning Mercury series of traditional cabinet loudspeakers that have dominated the budget hi-fi market for over two decade. Constantly evolving and now in its best-ever sixth iteration. Mercury’s value, ease of drive and outstanding sound quality is available in a Tannoy in-ceiling loudspeaker for the first time.
Mercury’s value, ease of drive and outstanding sound quality is available in a Tannoy in-ceiling loudspeaker for the first time.
Available in two models, the Mercury iC5 and even larger and more potent Mercury iC6, the range has been designed with music reproduction at its heart. Set in a rigid, high-tech chassis the driver and crossover configuration offers a winning combination of rich bass, articulate vocals and a sweet, extended high frequency performance. Unlike the majority of budget in-ceiling loudspeakers, Mercury iC draws on Tannoy’s long heritage in professional and residential loudspeaker design to deliver a true musical loudspeaker in a discrete, fit and forget format.
Tannoy’s experience in ceiling loudspeaker design extends to fitting over 5,000 units in the famous Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai, as well as prestigious hotel installations in Las Vegas including The Bellagio and Wynns. It is no surprise then that Mercury iC is incredibly simple to install, featuring shallow profiles, four innovative self-aligning clamps and high-quality gold plated spring binding terminals. Mercury iC delivers all of the outstanding value, performance and versatility that has made Tannoy's Mercury series loudspeakers best sellers for over two decades.
The compact Mercury iC5 in-ceiling loudspeaker is ideal for smaller rooms or where space is at a premium. A cut out of just 168 mm (6.62”) and depth of 68 mm (2.7”) is required to install the Mercury iC5 yet it is capable of delivering a full range performance. Despite the compact 150 mm (5.00”) mid-bas driver, Tannoy’s engineering expertise has resulted in a loudspeaker with high 86dB efficiency and exceptional power handling. Ideal for use with amplifiers up to 70 Watts per channel, the Mercury iC5 is capable of delivering large scale orchestral works or rock music with ease.
