The 70 watts per channel into eight ohms Naim NAP 200 is a formidable stereo power amplifier using an evolved power amplifier circuit design borrowing many of the lessons learned in the development of the range topping NAP500.

The dominant feature inside the alloy casework of the NAP200 is the enormous power supply - a 430 VA toroidal transformer feeds alternating current to the separate bridge rectifiers and 10000 micro farad 50V BHC reservoir capacitors for each power amplifier channel, and a separate transformer winding, rectifier and capacitor are dedicated to a low noise +24V DC power rail for any matching Naim pre-amplifier - the NAC would be an ideal match.

The main amplifier pcb itself has been subject to component layout changes to improve the grounding scheme, which has cleaned the musical reproduction significantly. At the same time, mechanical de-coupling of the PCB from the surround case work has reduced micro-phony in the circuit, so that there is nothing to disturb the sensitive electronics.

Integration of the NAP200 into your hi-fi system could not be simpler - simply connect an IEC mains lead, your loudspeakers using 4mm banana plugs (ideally wired with NAC5 speaker cable) and use a 4 pin DIN to DIN lead to connect your NAC pre-amplifier. The result will be audio bliss.
