It is important that you source the correct belt for your turntable. This replacement drive belt is designed for use with the Pro-ject Turntables only.
The drive belt takes the rotational force created by the motor and applies it to the turntable platter, allowing the platter, and the record with it, to move at the required speed. The replacement belt for the Pro-Ject Genie turntable has a large diameter, and is finished in black or white. Its rounded design allows for minimal contact with the platter, reducing the transmission of resonant forces.
To extend the life of your drive belt, avoid touching it with your hands as much as possible. Once mounted, use the speed key provided with Pro-Ject turntables to change the rung of the pulley.
