The foundation of the JBL S4700 is an all-new 15" cast frame woofer (2216Nd) with a powerful 3" dual voice coil and neodymium motor structure for excellent balance with the horn-loaded compression drivers. Mid and high frequencies are reproduced by a pair of titanium diaphragm compression drivers and a one-piece dual SonoGlass® horn assembly.

The 2-inch Aqua-Plas™-coated titanium (175Nd-3) diaphragm compression driver is coupled to a 90° x 60° Bi-Radial® horn, delivering mid and high frequencies with lifelike dynamics and startling realism. While a 0.75" titanium diaphragm compression driver (138Nd) with a 60° x 30° bi-radial horn provides the spaciousness.

High-quality crossover components and two cable connections ensure audiophile performance in every application. The attractive cherry veneer cabinet is internally braced at critical points and is tuned via a rear port. The S4700 is intended for use in high performance 2-channel audio systems or as an LCR loudspeaker in a JBL Synthesis multi-channel home theater installation.
