Inspired by 40 years of legendary large-format SSL consoles, the Solid State Logic SiX is a 6-channel SuperAnalogue desktop mini mixer offering SSL's high-end sonic signature, powerful analog processing, and versatile configurability in a frame that's equally at home stationed in a studio or living life on the road. It features two mono input channels—each containing a console-grade SuperAnalogue microphone preamp with phantom power, a high-pass filter, and up to 72 dB of gain, plus a line / Hi-Z 1/4" input—and two stereo input channels. The mono channels boast single-knob compressors, 2-band EQ, and balanced insert points for flexible onboard and outboard processing, and all channels are outfitted with smooth 100mm faders.
Fully equipped to function as the hub for your recording session operations, the SiX provides a 3-pin XLR talkback mic input with selectable phantom power and LMC (SSL's heralded Listen Mic Compressor), 45 dB of gain, and adjustable output level. Separate talk buttons enable the talkback signal to be sent to either or both of the two cue buses, which can be sourced from the channel cue sends or external inputs. Connect the rear-panel 1/4" foldback outputs to your headphone amps, and plug in control room headphones to the top-panel headphone jack. After all recording is done, this desktop console grants 12-input summing at mixdown. With a G-Series stereo bus compressor on the main mix bus, a pre-fader mix insert, and an alternate B bus (great for parallel mix compression), the SiX is highly capable of handling in-demand mixing styles. Also, its comprehensive control room section accommodates two sets of speakers, source selection, and easy access to mono, dim, and mute functions.
Compact desktop-friendly design with angled top panel for ergonomic access to controls
Functions as a 6-channel (two mono and two stereo) recording mixer or a 12-input summing mixer
Ideal for studio-based music and post production, live stage applications, podcasting, and more
Delivers +27 dBu headroom, wide dynamic range, ultralow noise and distortion, and precise imaging
Fully balanced signal path except for the headphone output
Two mono channels with SuperAnalogue mic preamps, individually switchable phantom power, 1/4" line/Hi-Z inputs, 75 Hz high-pass filters, and balanced insert points
Single-knob channel compressors feature signal-dependent attack, release, and ratio parameters with automatic make-up gain and adjustable threshold
E-Series-style, gentle, 2-band channel equalizers with up to 15 dB of boost/cut, selectable shelving (at 3.5 kHz and 60 Hz) or bell (at 5 kHz and 200 Hz) modes, and in/bypass buttons
Long-throw 100mm faders on all channels and main bus
Two stereo cue sends with independent level and pan controls
Per-channel PFL solo and 8-segment LED meters
Channel mute buttons reroute signal away from the main bus to the B bus
Two stereo input channels with -10 to +20 dB trim for line sources such as synthesizers, drum machines, and more
G-Series Bus Compressor on the main mix bus; fixed ratio, attack, and release settings give you the classic SSL glue in an instant
Two external stereo inputs with adjustable levels
Flexible control room section with main and alt speaker outputs, mono and mute switches, and adjustable dim
External talkback mic input with phantom power, 45 dB of gain, selectable LMC (Listen Mic Compressor), and adjustable output level
Meters have defined segments for +24 dBu and +18 dBu to match the two most common 0 dBFS alignment standards (EBU at 0 dBFS = + 18 dBu, and SMPTE at 0 dBFS = +24 dBu)
Gain reduction LED meters for channel compressors and main bus compressor
External power supply with locking connector moves the power supply's electromagnetic interference away from the SiX's audio circuits, allowing uncompromising bandwidth with accurate phase and transient response
Power rails are ramped on power-up to minimize thumps on monitor and headphone outputs
